The B complex is a group of 8 vitamins know as the Vitamin B.  B vitamins are found in eggs and meats like beef and poultry, as well as green leafy vegetables, peas, and beans.  This little army of a vitamin is crucial to many facets of our health, because it functions as energy in our body, aiding our metabolic activity, carrying oxygen to the cells, and a whole host of specific tasks that each individual piece of the B complex is responsible for.  B Vitamins are water soluble, so they are normally shed in the urine if unused…so don t be shocked if you have a slightly neon yellow coloring to your urine occasionally when on a B complex.

 

Probably one of the most commonly known uses for the B complex, would be folate (folic acid) during pregnancy to prevent neural tube disorders such as Spina Bifidia anencephaly, etc.  But this is just the tip of the iceberg….

 

B vitamins have been shown to provide great benefits to the skin, nails, and hair.  It has also been seen to be beneficial in boosting the immune system and can be helpful with immunosuppressed individuals.
